Peccadillo Pictures will release Olivier Peyon’s latest film Lie With Me, based on the book Arrête avec tes mensonges by Phillippe Besson in UK cinemas on the 18th of August.
It follows Stéphane, a famous author who returns to his hometown to act as a brand ambassador for a cognac distillery. When he arrives, he discovers that one of the company’s executives is the son of his first love Thomas, which triggers vivid memories of his teenage affair at a time when homosexuality was kept in the shadows.

Continuing its series of releases from Marleen Gorris, Cult Epics will put out a new 4K release of Broken Mirrors, exploring the sexual power as two sex workers in an Amsterdam brothel rebel against their lot in life, while a serial killer kidnaps a housewife.
The first pressing will include a double-sided sleeve and the first 100 pre-orders include a postcard of the US poster. The film has been transferred from the original 35mm negative and is presented with an audio commentary from film scholar Peter Verstraten and an interview with US sex worker Margo St. James.
It can be bundled with the company’s release of Gorris’ A Question of Silence. Customers ordering both can claim a postcard of the Belgian poster. Read more about A Question of Silence below.
Set for release on the 28th of August, Second Sight Films has announced a limited edition 4K/Blu-ray release of David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future. The futuristic body horror sees diseases and physical pain become a thing of the past and follows Saul (Viggo Mortensen), who can grow new organs inside his body.
Also starring Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart and Don McKeller, the film is presented in a limited slipcase with new artwork by Marko Manev, with a 120-page book featuring new essays by Reyna Cervantes, Tim Coleman, Joel Hartley, Rich Johnson, Mikel Koven, Phil Nobile Jr, Ian Schultz and Hannah Strong.
Extras on the disc include a new audio commentary, interviews with Cronenberg and the cast, a video essay by Leigh Singer, the short film The Death of David Cronenberg and a making-of featurette.
Arrow Video has announced its September line-up, starting on the 18th of September with a limited edition UHD release of Mario Bava’s Blood and Black Lace.
The Giallo classic is newly restored from the original camera negative and presented uncut, with an audio commentary from Bava biographer Tim Lucas, a documentary on the Giallo genre, new video essays on the impact of the film, an episode of The Sinister Image dedicated to star Cameron Mitchell and more.
The limited edition packaging features a reversible sleeve, fold-out double-sided poster, collector’s postcards and a 60-page book with writing from Howard Hughes, Alan Jones and David Del Valle, plus new writing by Rachael Nisbet and Kat Ellinger.
On the 25th of September, Arrow will release a new 4K UHD edition of Ringu, Hideo Nakata’s legendary 1998 J-horror, following a journalist investigating the legend of a cursed videotape.
It’s restored from the original camera negative, with an audio commentary from film historian David Kalat, interviews with critics and filmmakers on the legacy of the Ringu series and new video essays. The release is presented with limited edition packaging, a double-sided poster and illustrated collector’s booklet featuring writing from Violet Lucca and Alexandra Heller-Nicholas.
Presented together for the first time in the UK, Arrow’s collection of Psycho 1-4 is released on the 25th of September and includes all new restorations of II, III and IV. The boxset starts with Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 horror classic, packaged with Richard Franklin’s 1983 sequel, the third film with star Anthony Perkins in the director’s chair and the quasi-prequel Psycho IV directed by Mick Garris.
Each film is presented in 4K with a host of extras, including a special fifth disc Psycho IV in its TV Aspect Ratio, and packaged with reversible sleeves with newly commissioned artwork by Matt Griffin, double-sided posters for each film and a 120-page book with new writing from film critics John-Paul Checkett and Johnny Mains plus select archival material.
Rounding out Arrow’s September releases is a new release of Brian De Palma’s Carlito’s Way, starring Al Pacino, Sean Penn, John Leguizamo, Luis Guzmán, and Viggo Mortensen.
Released early from prison, Carlito (Pacino) vows to go straight but finds himself drawn back into his dangerous past life when his cocaine-fuelled lawyer (Penn) crosses the mob.
It’s released on the 25th of September on DVD, Blu-ray and UHD, with new audio commentaries, an interview with the author of the original story Judge Edwin Torres, interviews with the cast and crew and an archival documentary. The packaging includes a reversible sleeve, a double-sided poster and a collector’s booklet with writing by Barry Forshaw.
